History
DoYourService was formed after a volunteer expedition to Madagascar highlighted many concerns for a small group of individuals on an expedition. These concerns where something on return home that certain individuals chose to do something about, challenging the existing paid charity sector with a voluntary alternative and ethos.
DoYourService has time and time again proven its strengths against the traditional funded charity sector.
" I felt truly loud, when a local woman first thought I was from a larger here unnamed charity and started to complain as to how little we had done for her, when I appologised and claimed my affiliation as a DoYourService Volunteer her tune changed and she seemed rather embarased, it was then that I knew I was part of something bigger than just myself..." Anonymous volunteer on Nigeria
" Its hard to decide how you can help sometimes... I see others doing big things and sometimes I feel a bit inadequate, but it inspires me to do more, to try harder to make a real difference..." Anonymous volunteer on USA project
